Tropical Sunrise with Passionfruit (Printable Version)

Layered passionfruit, orange and pineapple drink with grenadine for a vibrant sunrise effect. Ready in 10 minutes.

# What You'll Need:

→ Fruit juices

01 - 1/2 cup passionfruit juice (fresh or bottled)
02 - 3/4 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed preferred)
03 - 1/4 cup pineapple juice

→ Sweetener

04 - 1 tablespoon grenadine syrup

→ Garnish & extras

05 - Ice cubes, as needed
06 - Orange slices, for garnish
07 - Fresh mint sprigs (optional)
08 - Passionfruit pulp (optional, for texture)

# How to Make It:

01 - Fill two tall glasses with ice to chill the vessels and create a clear base for layering.
02 - Divide 1/2 cup passionfruit juice evenly between the two glasses, pouring 1/4 cup into each glass as the first layer.
03 - Pour 3/8 cup orange juice into each glass over the back of a spoon or down the side to minimize mixing, then add 2 tablespoons pineapple juice to each glass in the same manner.
04 - Slowly drizzle 1/2 tablespoon grenadine syrup down the inside edge of each glass so it sinks and creates a sunrise gradient.
05 - Top each glass with an orange slice and a mint sprig, add a spoonful of passionfruit pulp if desired, and present immediately without stirring to preserve the layers.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • It's easy to make look impressive even if you're in sweatpants and slippers.
  • The sweet-tart mix instantly turns even a busy day into a little tropical escape.
02 -
  • If you pour the grenadine too quickly, it will mix rather than layer – patience pays off.
  • Using cold juices (not room temp) keeps the layers more separated and the drink refreshingly chilled.
03 -
  • If your grenadine bottle gets sticky, run it under warm water before pouring so it flows slowly and smoothly.
  • For fresher flavor, strain pulp and seeds from fresh passionfruit before juicing – unless you love the crunch.
